12 Steps to Joy (14)

The Word of Life (7)

In the beginning the Word already existed.

The Word was with God,

And the Word was God.

The Word existed in the beginning with God.

God created everything through the Word,

And nothing was created except through the Word.

The Word gave life to everything that was created,

And the life of the Word brought light to everyone.

The light shines in the darkness,

And the darkness can never extinguish it.”

John 1:1-5.

And nothing was created except through the Word.

The Word gave life to everything that was created,

We are arriving at the crux of the matter, the purpose of the universe and our own life as those who inhabit a created physical structure called a body. Above all, God is the creator. Note the clarity two highlighted phrases at the heading of this post, as they tell the quantum level truth to creation. Everything was created from the force we call the Word or God, and life exits in everything that was created. Quantum physics has determined that, indeed, creation is an on-going event: everything is quanta, or short pieces of something, including the event of time. Time itself starts and stops, renewing itself according to Planck time, that is, 10 raised to the 44 power, or 1 followed by 43 zeros per second. That is, the universe is created anew that many times a second.

God is the creator, and apparently must create and change anew all the time. That is, for a very, very short duration, the universe is created, then vanishes, then is created again, slightly different, with some random tidbits thrown in to make things interesting. Quantum physics is based on the probability function, which states that there is always some probability that the next instant will bring about something random, and not exactly following on the previous moment. That is why ‘free will’, or the ability to choose something different from what was expected by our past, is a truth: the universe can do different things just because of the probability clause that seems to be buried in creation (God) Itself, and being made in the image of God, we too have the ability to change and do something different than what we seemed destined to do in the future, based on our past..

God is an ever-changing force in the universe, not the static and non-changing being that has so often been described. We call this change evolution, and the changes are discontinuous leaps that we see as smooth and continuous. Even the movement (location and velocity) of the electron around the nucleus cannot be known exactly, due to the randomness of the probability function of time itself, and the constant updating of this data that never sits still. God is change; this may seem like a radical idea due to our having heard so much about the “changeless God” that seemed to fit our older mindset. Indeed, God has opened our eyes and minds and continues to reveal Itself in an ever-deeper manner.

Time. That strange feature that Albert Einstein turned on its head when he imagined and wrote the theory of relativity. What the functions of the theory of relativity has shown us is that time itself is purely relative and not a thing of itself; it is a measure of changing events. We understand time has passed because things change and evolve; it is a measure of change. We may not realize it, but time is different in each location in space; and time is a function of the action of the mass of the fields in each location in space, or better time-space. Even our present sense of ‘time’ is a function of where we are, and we can never, ever, see things in the true ‘present time’; for it takes a period of time for the light of an event to reach our eye; and it takes at least 0.2 second for the brain to form an opinion and an image from the light we see. So we always lag behind reality; and even reality itself is never, ever, the same from place to place. What we call gravity is due to time differences from place to place; time moves slower as mass increases. That is, time is faster at the top of your head than at the bottom of your feet when standing, and the slower time function at the bottom of your feet causes you to move towards the slower time, or fall. We call that gravity. What we are feeling is the God centered force of creation, drawing all towards the core.

Some call this love. The love of God draws us towards itself, always. The forces of the universe are all a form of love, drawing everything toward itself.

This strange world that can be considered the physicality of God is strange indeed: everything draws us to God, and all is a form of life of some form, if we understand or recognize that life or not.

Meditation

Oh Creative Lover, Your song of joy fills our life with wonderous melodies. The universe is but a sign of love for us to gaze at, listen to, touch, and live in. Life itself ripples with Your Love and Presence, and I find it breathtaking when I stop and look. You have filled my life with Your presence, sending me life at every moment of existence. I feel my heart lift and sing; I praise You out of joy and love that you have shared with me all my life.

We are bound in the music of life where we dance and weave within that glorious melody, or what some call God. Now, God has said that we are the very image of God (Genesis 1:27), and as images of God, we have the inborn ability to have Joy and Happiness forever present in our life. The author, David L. Peters, is an octogenarian whose life has always been filled with joy, regardless of outward appearances. The wonders of the Kingdom of Heaven is everyone’s birthright, if you know how to let your Creator and the Universe enter your spirit. Jesus put it succinctly: “The Kingdom of God lies within” (Luke 17:21). The Kingdom of God, Paradise, Heaven: these lie within you, right now, waiting for you to only turn and see, and join in the dance. Paradise is right within us, but how do we unlock the door to this wonder of joy? This book lays a path open that the author has followed for almost 80 years, starting as a young boy in rural Ohio, and it operates as advertised. No matter how things look in life, how bad it seems, all one need do is look deeper within and find the joy that can fill life: life is good! The life of abundant joy and happiness is yours for the asking. Dip your toe in the living waters, and taste the Beauty of God that is awaiting.
