Living in Unconditional Love (257)
“Love flows from God to humans without effort:
As a bird glides through the air without moving its wings-
Thus, they go wherever they wish united in body and soul,
Yet separate in form.”
–Mechtild of Magdeburg
My wife Eileen died from esophageal cancer in February 2020 one year after being diagnosed, 60 years after we met on Long Island. Then my brother Tom became ill (not COVID), and I spent a total of six weeks being with him in Ohio, but he died in October 2020. My sister-in-law Sue Mahoney died from Covid-19 in January 2021. On top of it all stood the pandemic, locking everyone down almost two years. Covid has proved to be a persistent problem, and many of the long-term effects are quite serious, and it has proven much more serious than flu.
03/01/2026 March already! I am enjoying the warm weather here and the view of the ocean rolling in that never ceases to amaze me.
The beauty of the vista is outstanding. I spend much time just watching the waves and surfers making quite a scene from their windows. Always mesmerizing to watch.
Maria’s birthday party was the past Tuesday afternoon, on the top of a VERY large mall somewhere in Lima, about 45 minutes away. The party was a resounding success, with about 45 young ones plus adults present. The theme was K-Pop Hunters, complete with three girls and three boys. The show lasted about an hour and a half, and part had Maria up singing (with microphone) and dancing. I had seen her practicing at home, and she was free and easy the whole time, enjoying being up on stage. A resounding success.
School starts next week, as their “summer” break is over. Maria starts first grade, Mackenzie has kindergarten, and Madison will attend (on and off) a preschool program. Maria is very excited to start first grade, an considers herself quite grown up.
It is sad to see the world in such a mess. T demanded he win the Noble Peace Prize and because he didn’t, he starts a war. I feel afraid for our world, as we do not know how this will unfold. It could get very messy for all, including the States.
Meditation
Gentle One, I beg for peace in our poor world. I see only love and warmth, but so many face devastating fear and pain as their world dissolves around them. Give those affected courage to turn to You for strength, and give them help to survive the carnage they face.

Amen! We have to keep praying.
