12 Steps to Joy (16)
The Word of Life (9)
In the beginning the Word already existed.
The Word was with God,
And the Word was God.
The Word existed in the beginning with God.
God created everything through the Word,
And nothing was created except through the Word.
The Word gave life to everything that was created,
And the life of the Word brought light to everyone.
The light shines in the darkness,
And the darkness can never extinguish it.”
John 1:1-5.
And nothing was created except through the Word.
The Word gave life to everything that was created,
Energy! We have heard that everything is reducible to energy. The latest findings in quantum physics says “kinda so”. When viewed from the macro-world of Einstein, yes that is how it is – E=mc(2), only energy exists. However, in the quantum world it is not so simple. The quantum world, the world of the sub-atomic, nothing really exists – not even energy. Instead they talk of “fields”, that nebulous world of where potential energy fields flip in and out of existence in Planck time frames (one ten billion-trillion-trillion-trillionth of a second). A field is one of those terms invented to talk about a concept that has almost no words to describe it. A field is a universal potential with a probability of existence anywhere in the universe, but whose probability is close to one at only one point in the universe, and EXTREMELY small elsewhere. That is, it could reappear anyplace in the universe, but it will probably appear just where we expect it.
This is God creating. Over and over again. Time itself is a measure of change, and the probability function allows ‘unscheduled’ events to appear. That is, if we could determine every condition of every atom in the universe, according to Newton, we would be able to determine the future exactly. But the probability function that is defined by quantum physics says that even if we knew the exact function of every atom in the universe, we would still have that random factor that appears to change the future to something unforeseen. Thus the field concept: the recreation of the atom could be anyplace in the universe, since the field extends throughout the universe: each bit of energy has the capacity, with some probability, of appearing in a different location. Perhaps that is why when physicists attempt to determine the location of an electron in an atom, as that can be seen only as a cloud, or in slightly different locations of the electron from the absolute spin point that cannot be stopped.
Our universe is a strange beast. When we consider that the universe is truly a facet of the Image of God, like all creation, it begins to make sense. Quantum physics states that everything is a ‘field’, that nebulous extent of probability that extends throughout the entire universe. Everything. Including energy, the fundamental physical result we see every day as flowers, ground, stars,– and you and me. Once we understand that everything is a function of its field, and it remains a field until ‘observed’ when it forms some type of physical representation, we hopefully can begin to see that everything is a single thing, something we can and do call ‘God’. This field exists only within the universe, and can only be seen within the universe. God, of course, is not limited to this universe, and ‘exists’ through all eternity. There are no words to describe that existence.
It may seem strange to be calling everything that exists God, but we see and experience only a fraction of what is present, for we can only sense a limited set of behaviors. We have come to see the truth in that, and have seen the interaction of what we call ‘dark matter’ that has some mass and gravity that forms the majority of galaxies, but we see only by the gravitational action on the visible matter, and ‘dark energy’ that is only detected by the effect on inter-galactic distances which are increasing at an accelerating rate, instead of falling together as gravity would suggest the universe do.
And now we can wonder what other things exist out there that we have no inkling about. Yes, this leaves room for what would call angels and spirits, and countless other forces, that all together we call God.
And somehow all these forces come together to make relationships – some just to lovingly form the beauty of stars and the heavens, others to form the wonderous interplay that create life, and still others that motivate us to form loving expressions with other loving expressions.
This is God.
Meditation
Wonderous lover, how I find myself short of breath in the immersive beauty we call life. life is all around me, before me, behind me, beside me, above me, and below me. Everywhere, like a field, reaching to the ends of the universe and beyond. I find this astounding, and cannot comprehend the breadth and depth of love that is everywhere, in everything, and iseverything. Nothing is not a fountain of love, if we only but see. Open my eyes and mind to the love that is my body, this chair, my love, all that is creation. I weep in gratitude for just being present, immersed in Love. Thank you for the gift of eternal life in Love.

We are bound in the music of life where we dance and weave within that glorious melody, or what some call God. Now, God has said that we are the very image of God (Genesis 1:27), and as images of God, we have the inborn ability to have Joy and Happiness forever present in our life. The author, David L. Peters, is an octogenarian whose life has always been filled with joy, regardless of outward appearances. The wonders of the Kingdom of Heaven is everyone’s birthright, if you know how to let your Creator and the Universe enter your spirit. Jesus put it succinctly: “The Kingdom of God lies within” (Luke 17:21). The Kingdom of God, Paradise, Heaven: these lie within you, right now, waiting for you to only turn and see, and join in the dance. Paradise is right within us, but how do we unlock the door to this wonder of joy? This book lays a path open that the author has followed for almost 80 years, starting as a young boy in rural Ohio, and it operates as advertised. No matter how things look in life, how bad it seems, all one need do is look deeper within and find the joy that can fill life: life is good! The life of abundant joy and happiness is yours for the asking. Dip your toe in the living waters, and taste the Beauty of God that is awaiting.
